It's also very hard to "create" a high end retail street, or any type of street. They have to develop organically because no developer can buy an entire street to redevelop the whole thing. We see 17th transform over time and extend with each new building proposed/developed. Whatever Truman is...

Also don't really see the point. If you need to take the elevator already, why not just go outside? It's not like you won't need to clean your dog after using a relief area probably used hundreds of times between cleaning.

A real school? or a diploma mill college? Should ask West end residents how much they love having the "CityU of Canada in Calgary" in their neighborhood.

    Calgary International Airport

I'm pretty sure some will be used out east for TATL flights. Is the 787 actually that range limited? AC flies YYZ-ICN, which is slightly further than this route. Although I do agree PVG is a better market, not as saturated as AC/CX with HKG, and have good connection with China Eastern I wonder...

Purpose built makes a big difference. It's perfectly reasonable for there to be demand for all types of housing sizes and styles, the issue with the Toronto market was the units were built for investment purposes, and the reality is most of these people are bad investors. Buying a suburban house...

That's crazy, do they not have fences?

I don't think so? The main one for Calgary is being built near Spyhill, so this one would likely be for Indigenous people only.

This is an announcement of nothing. Every government does these "announcements". This is the same funding that happens every year, and used to be called the Gas Tax Fund. The feds, province and city have an agreement and we receive approx. $80M a year. This is what it funded in 2024: (Obviously...

The city could use a few more of these urban, fenced in dog parks. I know of the one in EV and UD. They're great for smaller dogs that can't really run around in a big off-leash area.

And just a different lifestyle. Almost nobody lives in SFH in those places, so, there are many more places for people to gather - food halls, coffee shops with multi-level seating, malls, etc. Conversely, almost nobody has a large kitchen, a backyard. Sports that require lots of equipment are...

Keeping the line straight makes sense, and there could be a rapid bus connection if there's enough demand.

Probably nothing then if it's a REIT. Too bad it's not owned by a more ambitious developer.

    US Politics

As much as you may disagree with his politics, he won the election, the electoral college and the popular vote. Democrats need to be more forceful in their actions, and I think we're starting to see that, with redistricting for redistricting, versus just screaming into the void about democracy...

That immediately reminds me of the Ontario Place Spa. I'm fine with that kind of facility, as long as it doesn't take away a public amenity space like it is in Toronto.
