That would be multi billion dollar investments with a very uncertain return. There's plenty of developable land there without spending billions to bury a highway.

At least this one has a planned end date. I mean it is just a grass field. Construction of the temporary green space will begin in October 2025, with anticipated completion and availability to the public in spring 2026.

It's probably a process thing but it's a bit odd to have to go to the government to fund a recall against... the government. Regardless of who the recall is against, there should be contingency reserved for this so it's not a political decision.

The main problem they had with this seems to be the lack of "normal" weekends. They plan to run 2 car train, but there's a Flames game, concert, event, etc. that half the time it's not even 2 cars on weekends.

Wonder who else responded to the RFI/RFP in 2022. TD has some bank wide restructuring happening so it may not be that the sponsorship is performing poorly.
