Great analysis, as always. But this had me cracking up.

I'm looking forward to the refresh here. That section wasn't particularly enjoyable to ride with all of the root upheavals and uneven sections from previous fixes. It did get a little better after they shaved down some of the worst bumps but the sections before and after are much smoother.

Oh I agree, I'd much rather a straight path like you get on the west side of town along Bow Trail. The way it zig zags through the Eau Claire area, and with all of the low tree cover, makes it dangerous if you have people passing each other on blind corners. Still one of my favourite sections on...

I ride this path a few times a week and I'd guess the intent is a traffic calming measure to slow cyclists down. It's been a little dangerous with the construction walls up for the last couple of years because it's been so blind. It will a least be improving now that you can mostly see around...

I'm not even close to an expert on addiction, but I'd agree that there's often brain damage involved with the strength of drugs these days. I wonder if moving severe cases into a separate "village" setup, similar to how they're starting to trial for dementia patients would make sense...

They've ripped up most of the existing University Blvd that goes between the Children's Hospital and Foothills and graded the lots around there. Must be getting close to starting construction on some of these.

I go because the seats are way more comfortable and it's usually a little quieter. The food is forgettable for the most part.
