I think it would still be 17th, especially now that it connects directly into the stampede grounds. Stampede Tr will need a lot of bars to steal 17th's thunder. Melrose was the heart of the Red Mile in '04, wonder what place would step up now.
Red Lot is kinda corny. I like how Edmonton has the Moss Pit, but I'm not sure we have something similar to call our viewing area. I'd like for it to just be the C of Red
I haven't been in the area for a few years, so I can't comment on the effects at the street level. If there's a class action suit starting up, then I would expect that some businesses are losing significant money.
