The final look will depend on the brick. If it's the monotone 70's brick that much of the Beltline has, then meh. If it's more the varied look of the BLVD podium, then it could be a win.
Great density, great location, towers look kinda meh though. I do love how a lot of proposals now are trying to bring people into the site instead of just doing a massive podium / street wall.
Not surprised there is a difference between west and east, it's like a completely different ecosystem in the very flat eastern parts of the city compared to the very hilly western parts of the city. Also, anywhere near the river is obviously greener as well.
Vancouver's downtown was and still is, much more contiguous than Edmonton's though. Vancouver has very few parking lots left and are at the point where demolishing a 40 storey building makes sense. Edmonton has so much room for growth still that it's crazy.
Saw a Ferrari shooting brake (think it's called the FF) driving back from Louise a couple weeks ago, interesting choice to drive in the winter. Neat car, wouldn't be what I spend Ferrari money on though lol.
It is weird how the river valley cuts Edmonton in half, though I'm surprised how the north side of the valley never developed it's own high street. Jasper is close in parts, but is like 10% as lively as Whyte...
Also consider that hosting games in a place like Prague makes it easier for fans in other countries to travel there to see games too, not just about the locals.
