Bow Trail is the coolest view. If we got more towers on or near the ridge it would kinda remind me of the view of Broadway across False Creek from downtown Vancouver
Centre St is presumably much less of an issue for transfers than City Hall station, which was the main alternate proposal being pushed. City Hall is already extremely busy due to being the first Blue/Red transfer point.
In this alternate reality, it probably wouldn't make sense for the North...
Fix the podium to make it more friendly to urban life, but the rest is just not impactful enough to be worth the investment IMO. Living in the northwest, it's basically been hidden for most of my life anyways. If we're spending on art and "legacy" projects I'd rather the city do something brand...
Excellent proposal. Let's spin up a new organization to look into this, we will begin preparations in 2027. Before we publish our report, we will send it to the province for review, and if their opinion clashes with ours we will spend another 3 years to adjucate the differences. Expect to hear...
Gondola transit is actually very underrated for short-medium routes without crushing demand because the speed isn't that much worse than a train but the frequency means you'll never be waiting long, meaning the total travel time can be amazing compared to alternatives
I'd prefer any new transit infrastructure added downtown be something that connects it to other areas, instead of being a local-only circulator. 7 Ave is already sufficient as an E-W connector in the north side of downtown, and Red + Green line will be sufficient for N/S trips in the east side...
Just spitballing: what if Green Line N ended at 96 Ave, and the communities north of it were instead served by a spur off the nose creek rail line, running frequent automated trains in a s-bahn style service to downtown? This could potentially be done much faster than the centre st portion of...
They would have received the 1st rd pick we got in the last draft from Florida (32nd overall, we drafted Cullen Potter with that pick).
It probably would have been much better for our long term prospects to bite the bullet and ship out players like Andersson last year rather than hang on to...
My main issue with housing first is there is a significant chunk of the homeless population is unwilling or uncapable of following basic rules, leading to chaos for everyone nearby. Here in Vancouver, some druggies were starting fires in the SROs every couple weeks (via genius moves like using a...
