There is a drill onsite of an unknown project 19st/17ave/Blackfoot Tr SE. just north or the Centex gas station.
Edit… the Lot appears to be 740 19st SE. which is the “Grid” proposal. Thought this was dead?
Don’t think they care. This project is about one thing and that’s affordable housing. Can they improve? probably? I’m sure the cost per square foot was significantly less than the first building across the street. Their mandate isn’t impressing the Skyrise fanbase.
Besides 26ave all of the stations very similar. Big plazas with a station. They also have the appearance of lots of people around, when in reality most are quite isolated locations from population centres. Hope one day TOD’s pop up around these stations and these images actually are realistic.
With the housing part of the development starting to build momentum. Will prices be cheaper for homeowners compared to the rest of the city? Not owning the lot must save a few hundred thousand for a potential buyer. Not sure it would make sense to build there unless it was at a big discount
How much of a factor is it for developers waiting for construction companies? They could simply be waiting for the drilling company to be free. Or excavating contractors. Would think it would all need to line up??
After seeing this I kinda hope that the could incorporate Cowboys casino and nightclub in that development and build something big on the old casino and vacant lot to the east. Maybe another couple hotels?
