Based on the last pic, the previous was definetly a good photo lol, got tricked. Blue hour makes everything look better.

    Springbank Hill | ?m | ?s | Multiple Projects

Concrete foundations have been poured in the last couple days for Vesta's first phase. Truman still driving piles across their entire lot, looks like they're going to at least do the entire underground of all four buildings.

Oh God enough with the retail everywhere always all the time. Absolutely DO NOT need retail for this project.

    Francesco's | 48m | 16s | Arlington Street | DAAS

Click on the project and go to the 4th pic in the renderings section. It seems like that is the most accurate picture to what is built so far. One thing for sure though is that the renders did not depict how large of a presence this was going to have. This thing is a behemoth.

Only one picture, hard to tell if there is only one window on the west corner. The dark portion of the facade juts out a little, so from this angle, a second window could just be hidden.

I think what you saw was Truman's site with drills. Vesta's site has only had excavators, and they seem to be going a lot slower than Truman's. But they also have sloped walls for their pit, so they might not even be shoring.

I get a Western 'mountain town inn' vibe from it.

    SAIT Mixed Use | 21m | 6s | Unitii | S2

Unfortunate but realistic for the area. Hopefully, S2 can work with a developer to bring the exact design elsewhere where it would work. Would be perfect for West Beltline / Sunalta.

Getting rid of that parking lot is the biggest bonus. My own experience when I lived in the area and often walked to Safeway is that it was one of the worst parking lots with homeless crackheads tweaking and just lying out on the ground completely passed out in broad daylight. They're always...

Yeah, I could be totally wrong. The midblock section also has a very big opening in the back. Very strange section, curious to see more details.

Now that you are all mentioning the setback and possible reasoning, it could also be a cost savings with how the parkade is located. The more I look at the renders, it seems like the three-story stretch between the tower and retail on 1st Street may actually be a parkade. This development will...
