Lack of funding could have been a major issue. I think we saw a lot of small projects stall out as COVID and interest rate increases have made banks risk-averse. Large projects like the convention centre had funding locked in.

Also the hospital. I knew a nurse renting a duplex in Mt.Pleasant with three other nurses. Imagine how many nurses fresh out of college would be renting here.

BentallgreenOak Considering North Hill already has a train station, it is one of the greatest TOD opportunities in the city IMO. And I'd go even further than just U/D style development, it should be high-rise Vancouver-style TOD.

re The Ampersand.. can only renovate so much of a building for the economics to make sense. And the extensive work done in the interior is proving to be a huge success. The Ampersand naming is a testament to its extensive amenities offered to tenants... it's an office tower & conference center &...

Very limited knowledge here, but from what I remember working on some real estate projects with GWL, the company took a really big hit in the bond market in 2022. They halted a lot of real estate projects because of it from what I heard, including industrial projects, which was the only thing...

I believe this project is intended to draw Airbnb investors, and the odd unit design stems from minimum parking requirement per unit with the maximum amount of parking stalls they can fit on the tiny plot of land.

Someone was found stabbed to death in front of that Superstore... what does 'really bad' to this city council and police force even constitute? The amount of leniency towards these troubled people is too much.

Are those townhomes on the West elevation? That last home adjacent to the train tracks will have major turnover with fools entering a lease and then breaking it within a month due to noise and rumbling.

At the width this building has, I sure hope it isn't more than 7 storeys.
