I never expected this development to be on my radar for projects to look forward to but now I'm really excited to see how this turns out once it's fully completed.
I was randomly thinking about the Lougheed building the other day and what was going on with it. Does anyone know if the improvements to the building are completed or what the status is? Or will it be in a perpetual state of construction for the rest of its life...
Seeing that they're using the dark charcoal brick on the ground level on the west-facing side, do you think that will be on the side facing 17th avenue? I feel like that's going to make this building look even darker and colder in terms of street presence.
Personally, I would rather my tax money be contributing to preserve and restore the Hudson's Bay building than building the arena tbh (and I say this as someone who isn't anti-arena).
I would love for another development to bookend the other side of the park. I also dream of this park becoming more of a iconic landmark maybe with better lighting, sculptures, and water features.
Perhaps I am a little biased as my MIL resided in one of their buildings for quite a few years and I saw how they managed their property. Let's just say, they would be the poster child for slumlord operations.
Typically I would agree but knowing that Strategic is leading this, I think the Ship's concerns are valid and I wouldn't leave anything open to interpretation.
