What caught my eye...
The province has committed $1.1 billion over three years to expand the Calgary LRT system, including development of an LRT connector to Calgary International Airport—a project that has been part of the city’s long-term transit plans for years.
This confused me, could just...
The ROW is there, the businesses and developments are there. I guess the issue is the money, could be done in conjunction with a Heritage/Macleod interchange improvement. As the City you cannot approve all the development going in here and then not invest in the area yourself.
This isn't a new concept to Calgary either. All you really have to do is adapt what you did along international avenue. With the red line you wouldn't need the bus lanes, but you could adapt this concept and maybe use those as reversable through lanes? Someone smarter than me can work out the...
It is a decent size parcel, the size of the tractor trailer shows you there's room. What isn't great is that there's no way to go Northbound out of the parcel.
This whole section of Macleod may be one of the worth to live on. It is a very wide right-of-way and apron city with a decent...
So it is mixed use... nothing on the development map yet.

They expect to begin construction in early 2027, with tentative completion by late 2028.
I assume this is looking west? The article did not say.
You have to think about if differently for Lethbridge. I'd say most aren't flying to get to Calgary, they're flying to get to YYC, which you then go on to somewhere else. Guaranteed that parking is easier and cheaper at the Lethbridge Airport than YYC. The BC Interior can be thought of...
I agree, which is why I would've kept the height but move concessions and washrooms to the outside wall. I just like the idea of the concourse being open to the bowl. I actually think it could improve concession sales, if you feel like you can go grab something during play without missing much...
So many other places to develop on Macleod and yet an icon falls. It isn't that big of a deal, but this building is pretty iconic to me, as a Cool Runnings watcher and a south Calgary guy that went here through my 20s, end of an era.
Does Deveraux do commercial or just residential? I've seen...
No news really but there is something happening with Westbrook.

In a response to an inquiry by LWC, the City of Calgary said that it is hoping to reimagine the...
I'd like to see the street-level podium replaced, and I wouldn't mind refreshing the cladding on the tower's exterior. I don't know enough about materials to say what should replace the existing cladding, but it could be modernized.
I'm sure they'll put some advertising or promo on those walls and not leave them blank. At first, I was thinking you could lower the upper bowl, get rid of the stairs and push the concessions against the exterior wall and that would move the circulation space against the bowl. Then I thought...
