    Statscan numbers

One item about the decline in oil and gas jobs. Edmonton, was where a lot of the field workers seemed to live. It is those jobs that have declined as a bit of faster pace as automation and initial buildout of projects have progressed.

    Calgary Regional Rail Transit

Waterous just cannot help himself. https://ca.news.yahoo.com/calgary-banff-rail-proponents-submit-140025691.html I'm sceptical of all of this, a private rail operator who has never operated rail, even a public operator who has never operated rail. I guess it is good that it is some news.

There is a bit development around here that could pretty drastically change the pedestrian numbers. Sentinel for one, as well as the other developments south of 17th Ave on 14th Street. having taken the 7 through here for a few years, there are a lot of people that get off and on the bus here...

I know I said I am not a traffic engineer, and I'm not, but I do try to bring solutions rather than just complain... What if, at this intersection and for a block or two leading up to it, there were only three lanes and a scramble pedestrian crossing. A single curb lane for right turns and...

    Rumours & Speculation

CMLC doesn't even mention Matthews Southwest as part of that property anymore, so I'd assume that is dead? Seems like they'd still like a hotel there but yeah

    Palliser One | 122m | 27s

So much to digest in there... Sounds like new builds coming to the Aspen block around the Calgary Tower, just could be a few years away. I remember they had big office plans for the block years (decades?) ago. Re doing the Calgary Tower podium and adding some residential would be great. They...

The answer is money saved during expropriation. Probably just should've spent the money then to save money later.

I was thinking of keeping the road where it is but just building over it.

    Calgary Regional Rail Transit

Waterous has had a busy year with the whole MEG thing. But someone would be well advised to tell them to show and then tell rather than tell and show. Do the work behind the scenes, then surprise people. Are they expecting a groundswell of support to push their plan forward? Something tells me...

The restaurant from Toronto that moved in didn't make it a year. There's a design solution here, I just don't think the City is willing to do it... The intersection and surrounding blocks need traffic calming. I'm not a road engineer but maybe it is possible to have the intersection be able...

    Calgary Flames Official Thread

Looks can be deceiving, this is the best they have looked all season but keep in mind they will be trading at least Anderson away, maybe an AHL player can jump into that spot seamlessly but probably not. Also, even the worst teams win some games and get some points, and i don't think they looked...

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

Of course it is owned by a pension fund. I assumed CBE still held it. I guess not.
