    Nest | 40.23m | 15s | Cairo Development | Casola Koppe

This is very similar to the hat on the west end or maybe I'm getting the building name wrong. At least that isn't so prominent. A simple white and black with a gray would've been so much better.

    Scotia Place | 36.85m | 11s | CSEC | HOK

    Urban Development and Proposals Discussion

My reply has little to do with urban development but as we struggle to create jobs (the thing that props up our system), is there an appetite to remove subsidies and/or exemptions from these corporations moving jobs out of the country? My line of thinkings comes from what the feds have done to...

    Calgary Flames Official Thread

People, including me, target Murray. I'm wondering if it is ownership that's closer to the team that fears being bad on purpose. The thing is they haven't tried it. They're guessing fans won't show up but it is a guess. In seasons where they are 20th, sure fans don't show up that year and lose...

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

Just wait until the budget... There's already talk about budget cuts to lower the increase. An easy cut is the 5A. See what council is.

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

You don't have to convince them; the point should be to get the person already cycling part of the year or thinking about it to get on their bike. Sell water to a walrus, not salt to a snail.

    Calgary & Alberta Economy

Two lines from this stuck out to me... https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/canada-china-carney-trade-talks-9.6961276 A readout of the discussion from the Prime Minister’s Office said both leaders directed their officials to move quickly “to resolve outstanding trade issues and irritants.” The...

    Alberta Provincial Politics

A new PC Party, if well organized, along with a UCP split between PC and Republican/Wildrose completely changes the math to the point Alberta might turn into a minority legislature. Not the worst thing, slow down some of the crazy.

    Calgary Flames Official Thread

Missed the game last night, but the hole just keeps getting deeper. Also, the team is putting out there that they might keep Kadri, I wonder if that's them just looking to drive up the price?

As a rental, I imagine it is in their interest to do minimal parking.

Including mission is fine by me because this new riding also includes Victoria Park and East Village. In 8 years when they look at this again those areas will likely continue to get more and more dense.

    Glenbow Museum | 43m | 9s | DIALOG

In person, if you look carefully at the building the panels do have imperfections. I don't mind it, it gives the facade an almost hand-crafted look. Now, I will say, that's probably not what they were going for and sleep and modern maybe shouldn't look hand-crafted, but it is what it is.

    Plaza | 109m | 33s | Cantiro | GEC

I'm surprised we never got a name change here. Plaza always seemed like an odd name for a building with a minimal Plaza.

    Calgary's Downtown Population

That is true, it isn't as urban as our downtown and Beltline. And are they even doing conversions? The more of those finish up the more Calgary downtown population rises on top of new builds.

If that's bottomed out, this could rise quickly.

    Calgary's Downtown Population

Things in Edmonton are weird, they're likely losing a riding in the inner-city for the next provincial election. I thought they were the golden child of missing middle but maybe not?

    Alberta Provincial Politics

Not to double post but... The Electoral Boundaries Commission has released its proposed maps of electoral divisions for the next election; they seem to have kept their heads on their necks. In my quick glance at Calgary I actually think these maps could lead to a worse outcome for the UCP...

    Calgary & Alberta Economy

I wondered if this was SAAB feeling like they lost out to the F-35 again and putting Canada's name out there as a "we could've assembled in Canada if you chose us". It could also be that SAAB has gotten a feeling that Canada will say yes to the F-35 and also add in some Gripens and they've been...
