Anyone know anything about how many units have been sold or prices for the units beyond the fact that they're from the low 200ks? Can't find any recent marketing material online.

It really is.
Is it because energy code ?
Are you talking about the windows on the side? That is almost certainly because of limits on the size of openings you can have on walls facing another property. It's a fire code thing. And won't be a big deal if and when more tall stuff gets built next to this

Edit: nevermind, I see it faces a street. It still may be a fire code thing though. Or energy code like you said. Or could just be a quirk of how the floor plate is laid out. The footprint is very small (curse you double egress!!!)

It's literally just about being cheap. Not about energy or fire code, as there are no developable lots next to this building (2 roads, 1 park, 1 sport field). Other major cities build with curtainwall and pass the energy code. This is just Calgary allowing developers to get away with the least esthetically pleasing designs with the lowest quality materials.

The pace is impressive. Almost like underground parking takes up a lot of time and materials. Makes me think about the process from a developers perspective to figure out if a development needs parking, how much it needs, and what do we have to show the city to get away with no requiring parking. For example, I think about the Weadickville Hotel, no way that should require an underground. Most of the year they have a massive unused parking lot. The time of year they don't (Stampede) they should be able to figure something out with a valet.
