My entire opinion of this project is based solely on Tres Marias and to a lesser extent, Saffron Bistro, being able to relocate within the neighbourhood. They are an absolute staple in my household.
I think it's now in the 21 day period where an appeal can be filed.DMAP showing this one is approved.
My wife spoke to someone at Tres Marias a few weeks ago and they said they were moving into where Flirty Bird is/was on 34 Ave & 19 St SW. I haven't been by to see if Flirty Bird has vacated, but that location isn't listed on their website anymore. I see that a Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is moving/has moved into where the Chatime was in the same building. If Tres Marias moves, hopefully they find a new home, I like their tortillas, best in town IMO.

The dry cleaner is moving to Kensington. Chinook School of Music moved to Macleod Trail & 39 Ave SE (not a terrible location if you want to drop your kids off at music class and have a beer at Annex or Establishment). Forage is closing this Thursday (February 27th). I'm not sure if they are relocating or not. I think Infuse Catering has closed already (I think they are/were associated with Forage). I'm not sure if Saffron Bistro has closed yet or will open another location in Marda Loop (they have a Strathmore and Calgary NE location). I think there is a meat place and yoga place in the building as well. I don't know anything about them.
This is why the work Leonard Development Group is doing in the area is so valuable. They are keeping the quirkyness in the area in the midst of gentrification and an influx of chains. And many, although not all, of the small businesses are thriving. Slow Burn Books, Le Comptoir, Avitus, Bonjour, Dopo in particular are bringing real vibrancy. As an example, Bonjour had to shut down focus on delivery orders shortly after opening as they couldn't keep up with walk-in customer orders, while down the street, Chachi's (who have a similar price point) is empty. This is one of those development that leaves you with mixed feelings. I like having older retail nodes that are a bit dumpy, usually you get the good eclectic local businesses. This new building will have less funky and eclectic businesses, but it will get rid of the out front parking and in 40 years it'll be back to older retail stock and will have come full circle.
