Progress looks good, and they even buried the telephone poles. Shame about the trees, but progress is progress I guess.

A photo update from West District today:
The extension of 81st Street, north from West Park, is coming along, with catchbasins and the sub base installed by the looks of it:
And if you look in the background of that photo, you can see that the first building of Trico's West 83rd Townhomes is under construction.
The piles have been driven in for Plaza:
Parkade excavation is coming along for Mondrian:
There is a pile driver on site for Oak & Olive, but it doesn't look like work has started yet, just site preparation. Should be soon though:
The public realm is being constructed in front of Newberry, it will be similar to what is already in front of Mulberry, with a regional path and some boulevard trees by the looks of it:
The landscaping is getting planted at Newberry as well, shouldn't be long before residents can move in:
Excavation at the Quarters is coming along
Parkside is slowly moving towards completion:
And some equipment is now down in Radio Park, it looks like they are going to be building it / finishing it this year. Looking forward to seeing it completed.

The DP drawings for the Trico townhoms are now posted. Just elevations, and no site plan from the looks of it. They look to be more traditional in design, and less modern than the Truman ones built.
Pretty typical of all of them.

There has been an empty parcel of land just off 85th Street, near West District, left undeveloped since the neighbourhood of West Springs was first established. A couple years back, a sign appeared advertising a new development on the site called "West Springs Landing."
I was hoping this lot would be developed by Truman, but I found a brochure for the development today and it seems to just be a run-of-the-mill strip mall with a small four-storey residential component in the far end of the lot.
A bit unfortunate, but to be expected for the area, considering the rest of 85th street is lined with these types of developments.

I saw a crane piece go by on 85th Street this morning, so the crane for Mondrian may be going up today.

I believe there will also be a second crane at The Mondrian, since it consists of two buildings. (When Gateway was constructed, they used two cranes)
The Quarters (1 crane) and Plaza West District (2 cranes) are also almost fully excavated, so they should have cranes soon as well. Oak and Olive will add another two on top of that, and if Adelaide (2 cranes?) breaks ground this year, we could be seeing up to nine cranes going at once!

Oh, also, I noticed they removed the Save-on Foods "Swoop" from their latest promotional renderings of Oak & Olive. Maybe they've secured a different grocery tenant?

Or, maybe the second one IS the old rendering from before they got Save-on as their anchor and they just mixed up the images in their newest post.

Newberry is now (mostly) complete, with Newberry 1 already having move-ins and just a few finishing touches left on Newberry II.
Work on Parkside is still plugging along:

I meant to post this yesterday, but I noticed that drilling has started on Oak & Olive now too (on Monday, after I went through with my update on Sunday). Here is the photo, I will update the front page map to show it as under construction:

When do you think the access to stoney trail via old Banff coach road will be open to public? Along with the entire west ring road stretch in Oct 24 or earlier ? I'm moving to West springs soon and am curious.
