Calgary sculpture that scorched someone's jacket back on display in June
A piece of public art that was removed and placed into storage after burning a hole through an onlooker's jacket will soon be reinstalled in a new location.

I am picturing a whole floor downtown with teams of researchers in lab coats speaking in hushed tones while they try to solve this problem which has bedeviled mankind for centuries. In the eighth year of research, a precocious intern assigned to the project for the summer comes up with a stunning breakthrough: "we should put it in the shade." Senior scientists are aghast, the Mayor calls for a ticker-tape parade. After eight long years, the cursed sculpture can be enjoyed by the public once more!

What the hell is with those balcony railings? Why would they not use glass? Really cheapens the overall look. Yuck.

The balcony railings on this corner really leave me scratching my head. Almost all the railings have now been installed and these 6 railings are the only ones on the entire building that aren't glass. Such a bizarre choice.
