That's how urban development works. Can't move into a quick-developing metropolitan core and be upset when a new tower begins construction. That attitude is for the rest of the city… and it doesn't even belong there either.

I don't think he's bummed out about the development or our City progressing, more so with the nuisance it'll bring to his day-to-day life. I think he thought, just like all of us, that there would be at least another 2-year gap before the 2nd tower begins. I don't blame him, I wouldn't want to live next to loud banging noises that begin at 7am for a whole 2 years either.

I've lived close to construction sites, but never right beside. I'd move too, very noisy and disruptive for sure!

Maybe buy a loud noise generating machine? A loud fan works great most times. Throw in some noise cancellation buds and you should be able to sleep through most of the loud sounds.

I imagine you will get used to it eventually. A fan does work well, they have been re-roofing buildings in my complex lately, and the fan helps me get a bit more sleep on the weekends.
