Unfortunately there hasn't been any activity that I've heard about. There are no active building or development permits, so if something is to happen, it won't be for a while yet. Best bet is for your friend to bug the developer JANL. It's not easy to get an answer from the developers, but the more your friend stays on top of them the better chance he/she will get some kind of info.

Wondering any activities onging for this project currently? My firend had signed to put some deposit on one suite and worried about if it may not continue.
How long ago did your friend put down the deposit? I ask because I feel like this one could be a while yet.

Thanks guys. He signed the contract last January and they've told him the priject would begin last december. However he had been told the fundation would not be digged until March, 2020, which is easier to dig in the coldest weather. Wondering is that make sense?

Is there a start date listed in the contract? typically there is a time limit on the deposits (which the developer is required to keep secure) before the purchaser can ask for it back. Sales are tough for inner city condos, so most projects are switching to rental these days.

Construction starting in March is a cost savings, less heating and hoarding of the excavation / concrete work, probably saves $20 000 at least. This is a typical thing for a development to start right as the ground thaws so it sounds legit.

I'm not an expert, but from yeah, from what I've seen holding off on digging is usually to save money. I know at times when I've looked to get a fiber optic circuit run somewhere in the winter, you get two costs. One cost to dig right away, and a cheaper cost if you wait until spring.

If they aren't digging by April, I would be concerned. They've had lots of time since your friend signed up.

Appreciate that. I aksed him to check with his purchase offer and there is only an indication clarified that the whole amount will be returned if the building could not complete the final stage before ______, 2020 (there is a blank for the specific month). Everything else is the declare the payment should be collected before fincal closing date, however there is no any other specific date on the contract currently.
Wodnering is that means the building shoulde be done firmly at the end of this year?
