They are just industry rumours and they do persist because of the sound reasoning to cap it. The office is spoken for no matter how much Telus probably would like to get out of it (their minority ownership in the development notwithstanding) The residential is purely speculative in a market with diminishing demand for executive suites. They'll be a very difficult sell even as luxury, long term apartments. What no one knows is how much Westbank has already sunk into building the apartments and if having them sit with high vacancy for an unknown term (things will recover eventually) is of great consequence to them.

All I was saying is that we haven't reached the point where we can put the rumours to bed.

Project Update:

In the months since our last update, progress has been moving along nicely at the site of Allied Properties and Westbank's Telus Sky, the Bjarke Ingels Group- and Dialog Architects-designed 59-storey tower now underway in the heart of downtown Calgary. Recent photos on our Forum reveal the progress that has been made to date, with the tower now rising several storeys above grade and the development already beginning to take its place on the local skyline.
