The metal cladding was worn and bleached. It was due for replacement however, the reskin doesn't look good at all. It's mostly cheap spandrel. The right thing for a glass facade would have been to replace the entire curtainwall. A thicker coating on the glass (a mirrored look) would have been better too.

Recladding is unnecessary in my opinion. Rather, if they want to make the building and area more attractive, renovate the first 2-3 stories to me brighter, more welcoming, more open, more accessible to the +15, possibly add a curve or oblique angle. There's already plenty of activity in most nearby buildings, even with the downturn. Open them up a bit and people will appear in the renders.

As for the top half of the building, all eyes will be on the "Sky". There's a benefit to giving the bridesmaids ugly dresses. ;)

I count 27 floors completed, and the 28th floor floor having been poured. There are 26 floors of office space, combined with the first two levels. This next week or so will tell the story.

So roughly half way up. I'm assuming the ceiling heights of the top half will be shorter than the bottom half?

If my counting is correct, I believe they are on the 27th floor. Time to put the rumors to rest.

The office levels go from 4 - 28, with floor 29 being mechanical. 29 will have the same floor-heights as the office floors. So we still have a few weeks to go before the residential amenity floor on level 30, and the first residences on 31. For more info, see: http://telussky.com

It's too bad the residential floors weren't built to the office specs.

The extra meter on each residential + sky office floor (31 total) would have made this the tallest building in the country outside of Toronto at 253 meters. Taller even than Stantec Tower at 251 meters.

Yes, taller is always good. The change in floor height is apparent in the east and west views and I don't like the way it looks. It looks like the tower got squashed.

I agree, but also realize that in our capitalist world, the dollar is king. This will always happen with mixed-use structures except for maybe in the Middle East.

Good Christ, at least we're not getting Toronto's Trump Tower. What a gods-awful monstrosity that is.

Even if they went an extra half a meter, or say two feet per floor that would have made a very noticeable difference.

Yeah, ugh, if only...
