It has to be some kind of issue with the glass panels or the mullions. I can't think of any other reason to have wood panels there.
 
Every time I see this building in person, I like it even more. I hope Calgary keeps getting designs of this type of quality.

I agree, but what exactly is it about this building that everyone likes so much? Is it simply the curves? For me that's a big part of it, and I love the way the curved glass reflects the city.
 
For me it's the curves, and the glazing. It's a very good building, but I think if it was 20 floors more it would be stunning.
 
It's the curves. The materials are very well above average, but the curves are definitely unique to Calgary and even to a lot of other cities. I saw the building the other day that sunset and the colours on The curved glass looked fantastic.
