A little over a year we reported on a new development in the works for Calgary's Bridgeland neighborhood. Back then Calgary based Jemm Properties had submitted a land use application to the city for a multi-family resident development just east of Steps Bridgeland, another multifamily development currently under construction. The re-zoning application had plans, but were only conceptual at the time.

A recent development permit application by Jemm, now shows detailed plans for their proposal. The application calls for a 16 storey, 285 unit residential tower with two lower height wings and retail at grade. The lower height wings will be of varying heights, with one at 11 and the other at 7 floors.

Designed by Zeidler Partnership Architects the building is a modern structure with a bit of a stylish retro look to it. The exterior materials are a mix of white and black metal composite panels, and vision glass. Lower podium retail area materials are a mix of brick, and rust colored metal paneling.

The project is in early stages, as the development permit application is under review, but Jemm has already cleared one of the initial hurdles when the original zoning change was approved back in March of 2019. The planning administration is recommending approval for the project which goes before the city's planning commission on February 6th.

With plenty more to come on this project, SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues.
