In our last check up on The Dorian, excavation was just beginning after a month of secant pile installation work. We recently caught up with the construction progress at The Dorian to find that excavation is well underway. Recent photos show work crews have managed their way down to approximately 15 feet below grade and continue to make good progress.

Under development by PBA Lands, the 27 storey hotel will join the recent surge of newly built downtown hotels that include, the recently opened ALT Hotel, and Hilton Homewood Suites, both in East Village, as well as the newly opened Residence Inn by Marriott which opened in the Beltline in 2019. When The Dorian opens it will be the first hotel in the downtown commercial core in over 10 years following the opening of Le Germain back in 2010.

The hotel is set to feature two different hotel lines - one of them being a luxury brand - in the same building, as well as rooftop restaurant, and social terrace. Designed by Calgary based Gibbs Gage Architects, the 304 room hotel will be located right in the heart of downtown, the hotel is sure to be a popular choice for visitors.
