It's been almost two years since we last had news about Village, a proposed multi-family development in Calgary's Bankview neighborhood. At the time, the project and its Architect - Modern Office of Design and Architecture (MoDA) were up for an Architizer +A Award. Calgary based RNDSQR was proposing the development, and many following the project were excited about the possibility of seeing the unique styled proposal becoming a reality.

In the time following March of 2017, the project has sat idle and with little sign of progress for the project, many feared it may have been scrapped. The project was indeed cancelled as was initially planned, but it wasn't  completely over. RNDSQR sold the property to another local developer, Eagle Crest Construction and now the project is back in play. In early 2020 a development permit for the property was submitted to the city proposing a new project. A new building design, created by FAAS Architecture proposes a 6 story building, with 78 residential units and a restaurant at grade.

The design looks promising so far, but the new proposal is still in early stages, and is going through the usual permit process. With more yet to come for this project there will be lots of activity to check up on, and as always SkyriseCalgary will return to check up on the project.
