Construction on a 15 storey residential tower in Calgary's south central area is finally coming to a close. Lumino C, a 121 unit rental project has been under construction for almost 7 years - a long period for even the largest of projects, let alone a 15 storey apartment building. Kanas Corporation, the company behind the development had previously finished the first two towers of the three tower project in regular fashion, but took longer than usual for the third tower.

While it has been a long drawn out process,  Lumino C is almost to the finish line with exterior work completed for the most part and mostly interior work remaining. Lumino C started construction way back in 2013, but the site has  been idle at various times, often for extended periods, and at times when work was happening it was often with a small crew of workers.

As mentioned earlier, Lumino C is part of a three tower project, with the first tower, Lumino A, being operated by the Calgary Housing as an 88 unit affordable housing building. The second tower, Lumino B is operated by Kanas Shelter, also as affordable housing. All of the 121 units in Lumino C will be market housing rental units.
