It's been four months since we last checked in on GROW, RNDSQR's striking Bankview residential project. At that time the building was just topping out, and the structure had taken most of its shape. Since that time more work has taken place on the exterior, but mostly prep work such as window installations, vapor barrier cladding, etc.. Now the final exterior materials are being installed, as recent photos show the installation of vertical cedar panels.

As the photos show, the panels are natural cedar, and are currently a light reddish, brown colour that will grey with age. Blending in harmoniously with the aged grey cedar, the rear and sides of the building will have charcoal metal paneling.

Designed by Modern Office of Design + Architecture the building will contain 20 units (3 townhomes, 14 condos, and 3 lofts), and feature garden plots for each owner. The front side of the building features a switchback walkway that will include some of the garden plots, and the rooftop will have more garden plots and a communal social area for residents.

With more construction still ahead SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
