It's been a while since we last checked up on RNDSQR's Beacon development, currently under construction in the southwest Calgary neighborhood of Shaganappi. At last check back in October 2018, construction crews were busy excavating the site, but fast forward to May 2019, and we see that the structure is now close to topping off.

The concrete construction portion looks complete, and workers are currently installing pre-made roof trusses. As seen in recent photos, the trusses are far from being standard run-of the-mill trusses, but instead are custom-built, designed to incorporate Beacon's sleek ceiling design.

Designed by 5468796 Architecture, the development will be a commercial use building geared toward businesses in the medical industry. And, although Beacon is not a large scale project, it's gathered a fair bit of attention due to its elegant, stylish design, including its unique ceiling, large glass windows, and overall open feel.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
