Two months since our last update, and progress at the mid-rise Rhapsody residential development at the University District has moved ahead significantly. The six-storey block by the West Campus Development Trust and NORR Architects has now risen four storeys above grade, save for the stairwell, which has already topped off.

The mixed-use, 288-unit Rhapsody will soon be home to more than 350 residents, all of which will benefit from the addition of a sizable Save On Foods grocery store at the structure's base. Indeed, the retail addition will be much-appreciated across the entire University District now cropping up around the intersection of 32 Ave NW and Shaganappi Trail NW, as the area is as of yet lacking in local services.

Close to the UofC, and walking distance to the CF Market Mall, Rhapsody and the surrounding University District will be a popular address for students and others looking to be near the campus. Popular coffee chain Analog will join the aforementioned grocery store - the duo to be the ideal combo for Rhapsody's majority student clientele.

Close as well to the CTrain, located just across campus, Rhapsody will be convenient for those without a car. Once complete, Rhapsody will be a fine addition to the up and coming University District to the northwest of the city cetnre.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database files and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below
