Calgary's Kensington area will be home to yet another construction site, as Annex by Minto is now underway. There had recently been rumours of a construction start, and now that time has come. The parcel has been cleared and drilling rigs and other construction equipment have arrived on site.

Designed by Nyhoff Architecture, the 9-storey, 104-unit residential project is one of the few projects being built as condominiums. Lately, the condominium market in Calgary for larger buildings has struggled while purpose-built rental projects have flourished. The fact that it is going ahead as a condominium building is a testament to the strength of Kensington area, which has seen a continuous string of multi-family builds despite the city's sluggish economy. Eisenberg recently started construction, while Anthem's 1134 Memorial Drive is close to finishing up construction. Those two coming right after the completion of Ezra on Riley, and the Palfreyville Apartments.

One of the prime factors of this development is without a doubt, its key location. Located right in the heart of Kensington, it's close to all kinds of retail, and is a short walk to downtown and the riverfront. It's also conveniently located a short hop away from the Sunnyside LRT Station and a Safeway grocery store.
