Two months since we last checked in at The Hat at 7th Ave, and progress has been moving along well. One of a growing collection of local, "hat" themed high-rises, The Hat at 7th Ave by Cidex Group and NORR Architects has now risen at least 4 storeys above grade from its post at the corner of 7 Ave SW and 10 St SW.

Located within the rapidly changing Downtown West End, adjacent to the West Kerby CTrain station, The Hat at 7th Ave will place residents within easy walking distance to transit, Shaw Millennium Park, the Bow River, and the Beltline. At just 12 storeys, the 66-unit residential development will be a boutique building, its contingent of 100 residents to more than likely share a greater sense of community than that experienced in a larger tower.

Much like its neighbours, The Hat at 7th Ave will be outfitted in a large amount of either spandrel or polished cement, with relatively small windows and comparatively generous balconies. The renderings suggest a mostly grey and off-white colour scheme with yellow accents on the main wall and underneath the balcony floor plates.

Once complete, The Hat at 7th Ave will continue the urban transformation that is currently underway within the Downtown West End.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
