Just two weeks since our last update, and M2 Block has received its first delivery of sheet glass as cladding work continues. Concentrated for now on the first floor retail space, the first instances of glass to be installed have caught the attention of local photogs as evidenced by the recent flurry of posts on our Forum

The recently topped off multi-purpose M2 Block by XYC Design + Development and nArchitects packs a lot into its four storeys, with retail at grade, office space on floors two and three, and a rooftop penthouse. Arranged in an angular, off-kilter, layer cake arrangement, M2 Block will soon become but the latest in a parade of architecturally notable additions to East Village.

For now, however, passersby must be satisfied with the gradual application of glazing and cladding as work progress into the spring. This being said, it will only be a matter of months before M2 Block begins to truly take shape, with an expected exterior completion date of late 2019.

Situated along the banks of the Bow, M2 Block will offer its tenants with splendid views of the river, and will in turn, be a very visual component of the local skyline.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
