Joining an ever-brimming list of "Hat" themed developments, Cidex Group and NORR Architect's latest - The Hat at 7th Ave - has now begun its ascent. Located, fittingly, at the corner of 7 Ave SW and 10 St SW in Calgary's Downtown West End, the 12-storey, 66-unit, Hat at 7th Avenue is on target to deliver up to 100 new residents to the area.

Rising amid a cluster of residential high-rises at the western terminus of 7th Ave SW, The Hat at 7th Ave is well-situated within the rapidly rising Downtown West End. The development is close to transit via West Kerby Station, nature in the form of Shaw Millennium Park and the Bow River, and multiple food, shopping, and entertainment options within the adjacent Beltline.

The completed tower will be comprised of eleven storeys of residential space placed above a single floor of retail at grade. Making for a full 12 storeys in total, The Hat at 7th Ave will fit right in among its numerous high-rise neighbours.

Once complete, Hat at 7th Ave will be a fine addition to the area, the Downtown West End now enjoying something of an urban renaissance as more and more high-density developments begin to call the area home.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
