Ten weeks since last checking in at Verve in East Village, and the multi-volume, mixed-used project has now reached completion. Designed by Giannone Petricone Associates for Fram+Stoker, the multi-volume development will combine residential living with live/work units, and a generous-sized retail space.

Verve consists of residential blocks, including a 25-storey tower and a 6-storey mid-rise, each of which are connected via a large retail podium. Located at the corner of 5 St SE and 6 Ave SE towards the eastern edge of East Village, the development will place residents within easy walking distance to several local attractions, including the RiverWalk, Bow River, New Central Library, and Studio Bell.

The addition of live/work units and ground floor retail to the development will serve to boost the daily foot traffic in and out the building over and above that represented by the upwards of 400 new residents who will soon call East Village home. The retail slated to move in is reported to be Good Earth, Panago Pizza, Barber Culture, Hart Healthy Foods, a medical office, and more.

A handsome project, Verve's pleasing presence amid the East Village skyline has made this development a fine addition to the neighbourhood.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
