Currently nearing completion in East Village, Battistella DevelopmentsINK has made a colourful addition to the neighbourhood, its distinctive blue, red, orange, and pink glazing now an unmistakeable piece of the local skyline. Located at 622 8 Ave SE, the 14-storey, 119-unit condo development will soon bring upwards of 200 new residents to the far east side of East Village, with upper floor suites treated to spectacular views of downtown and the Bow River.

Viewed above, INK's playful design scheme by S2 Architecture plays nicely against the summer sky, adding a punch of colour to the area. Below, as viewed from 8 Ave SE, INK's angular balconies add yet another piece of visual interest to the tower's silhouette.

Filling a longstanding gap in the streetscape, INK's base will include space for ground floor services and perhaps even retail. Amenities will include a rooftop garden and terrace equipped with a communal fireplace, a bike repair station, and a pet washing facility.

Once complete, INK will be a welcome addition to the East Village, the area quickly filling up every last vacant lot as developers continue to build out the neighbourhood.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
