Today's Throwback Thursday feature captures a decade of change upon the Calgary skyline. Taken from the same vantage point in 2008, and then a full ten years later in 2018, the photos below highlight the dramatic growth the city has undergone in a relatively short amount of time.

While subtle at first glance, Calgary's urban explosion has resulted in a forest of new high-rises over the past decade. From left to right, some of the highlights include The Bow, Telus Sky, Brookfield Place, and Centennial Place, to name but a few.

Combined with the expansion of the Beltline and East Village, Calgary's downtown core has added thousands of new units spread across dozens high-density developments, thereby bringing about a much livelier urban environment than the city has seen since its earliest days as a booming frontier town.
