Having long since replaced a row of hard scrabble low-rise commercial buildings, the most interesting of which was a defunct Deco diner, the construction now underway at the site of Greenview Developments' AVLI on Atlantic has become a transformative project for Calgary's Inglewood, located due east of the downtown core.

Going up thus on the north side Inglewood's main commercial strip along 9 Ave SE, the seven-storey, mixed-use 64-unit residential mid-rise will occupy an entire block of prime real estate in one of the city's most well-established historic neighbourhoods.

Viewed in the images above, the mass of the project can be well appreciated, the mix of one- and two-bedrooms, alongside the four live-work units, to serve the area well, especially with the planned addition of a continuous row of street-facing retail.

Viewed from downtown, the above aerial shot of the site serves to reinforce the scope of the project and its place within the neighbourhood. Set to bring upwards of 100 new residents into the heart of Inglewood, AVLI on Atlantic will be a welcome development, the rejuvenation of 9 Ave SE to be of benefit to all.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
