Progress at the site of Fram+Slokker's Verve has been developing nicely since we last reported on the removal of the crane back in late April. Since then, crews have been busy applying the finishing touches to the tower and podium components of the Giannone Petricone Associates-designed mixed-use development, with completion now just around the corner.

Located at 5 St SE and 6 Ave SE in the heart of East Village, the 25-storey, 288-unit Verve will soon be home to a mix of traditional condo units alongside a handful of live-work units, and ground-floor retail and restaurants. Visible below, progress at ground level has yet some way to go before Verve's residential and commercial tenants take possession.

Viewed in detail above, the aforementioned 5-storey live-work component will sit atop a 10,000 square-foot retail space which will front onto both 5th St SE and 6th Ave SE with a series of retail and restaurant storefronts, including Good Earth Coffeehouse, Panago Pizza, and Barber Culture.

Residents will be given access to not one, but two separate rooftop decks, the first on the 6th floor, and the second far above on the 25th floor, the latter to more than certainly provide sweeping downtown views for visitors and their guests. Once complete, Verve will be a welcome addition to the East Village, the project the first in the area to be built directly adjacent to The Riff pedestrian street which runs diagonally through the neighbourhood.

SkyriseCalgary will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
