Proposed for the corner of 1 St SW and 25 Ave SW in the heart of Cliff Bungalow, Verve Senior Living's Riverwalk by Campion Property Group and S2 Architecture will provide 12 floors of modern living and care facilities thereby meeting the demands of the city's aging population.

If approved, the development will replace a low-rise apartment complex across the street from a grocery store, and adjacent to a row of restaurants and cafes, the semi-residential setting at the outskirts of the downtown core will well-serve active seniors while still accommodating their less-active counterparts, the facility to offer a full range of care options.

Designed by S2 Architecture, the 12-storey, 141-unit, mid-rise development will feature a mix of volumes and cladding materials, each segment of the structure to serve a slightly different clientele and purpose. The top floors, equipped with balconies, and with floor--to-ceiling windows, will be reserved for independent supported living, while the lower half of the tower will be split between assisted living, memory care/dementia living, staff quarters/offices, and amenity space.

Both the independent and assisted living components will be privy to a generous rooftop terrace space, each of which will be a popular spot for family visits, meal times, and relaxation. Set for a potential completion by late 2019, Riverwalk has the potential to dramatically alter the neighbourhood, its height and density alone much greater than anything currently standing in the vicinity. This being said, the mixed-use facility would well serve a range of health care needs, and would provide a high degree of service to the local community.
