It's been over three months since we last featured a full-fledged photo update of Verve on our front page, and given the level of progress made, the animated East Village construction site is worth a revisit. Back in September, the first pieces of glazing had begun installation, giving onlookers a taste of what to expect from the Giannone Petricone Associates design. Now, the tower has risen approximately 20 storeys, five storeys below its topping-out point.

Verve is being brought to life through a partnership between Fram Builders and Slokker Real Estate Group, who have already jointly realized the fruits of their labour with the 18-storey First. Verve is the first condominium to be constructed along the Riff, and uses its six-storey podium to lend scale and context to the street by introducing retail and live/work spaces. Fritted glass, vertical highlights and geometric balconies bring definition to the 288-unit tower.

Floor plans range from studios to two-bedroom-plus-den options, with the largest being a 1,600-square-foot penthouse with an oversized corner balcony. Each suite features expansive windows for ample city viewing, stainless steel built-in appliances and quartz kitchen countertops in "Euro-inspired kitchens."

When completed in 2018, residents will have access to a full floor of amenities, including a party room kitchen and lounge, fitness studio, zen garden, and a rooftop lookout terrace. For now though, the focus remains on executing the tower's peculiarly shaped floor plates, and with topping-out expected in the coming weeks, another major milestone is in sight.
