The city of Calgary has a fondness for twin tower developments. Bankers Hall, the Suncor Energy Centre, and The Guardian — some of the most conspicuous buildings in the downtown skyline — have each risen in pairs. Completed in 2010 for Oxford Properties Group, Centennial Place continued that trend with an office complex boasting 40 and 26 storeys.

Designed by WZMH Architects and Gibbs Gage Architects, the shape of the towers, arranged in a perpendicular fashion, draw comparisons to the Rocky Mountains on the Calgary horizon. Their curved roofs and slanted edges ensure the complex maintains an alluring silhouette no matter the time of day. On the ground, the buildings are connected by a two-storey galleria, while access to neighbouring skyscrapers is made through +15 additions.

A look at the site from 6 Street SW over the large surface parking lot shows the impact of the complex from this angle. The recently completed Eau Claire Tower also forms a commanding presence in the neighbourhood's skyline. The 25-storey glass building is another property owned by Oxford.
