Wedged within a corner property between SAIT and the North Hill Shopping Centre, a new mixed-use development at 1528 16 Avenue NW is bringing some additional density to the Capitol Hill neighbourhood. Designed by NORR Architects for Strategic Group, One6 packs 103 residential units and 6,000 square feet of retail into a five-storey elongated building.

Replacing the quirky Log Barn store that stood on the property, the wood frame structure tops an underground parking structure, a much-needed component of the project given the over 61,000 vehicles that travel along this stretch of 16 Avenue every day. Available ground floor retail units range in size from 969 square feet to the large 2,680-square-foot corner space.

A recent album of photos portrays the progress that has taken place at the site to date, with the development topped out and cladding underway. Mostly sheathed in white paneling, while a dark grey section marks the chamfered edge of the property, the recessed red facade has yet to make an appearance. The project is scheduled for delivery later this year.
