The Harriet | 40m | 12s | Dobbin Consulting

he just means the perception of the mass of the building looming over the park for those using the park.
Yes, more so than the shadowing. I like height along 10 St NW, and am looking forward to the Kit building just off 10. But for the park I'm not crazy about a 40m building looming overhead without more buffer room or set-back. In Manhattan, Central Park is buffered by mature trees so that the skyscrapers feel tucked away despite being quite close. I also love the High Line park, and enjoy the tall buildings that have sprouted up along it. But that's a different city and a totally different experience.

In Bridgeland, the tall buildings are set back comfortably, and the park is wonderful. Beltline's Haultain Park is less inviting. There's the tall building for First St Market directly to the east, which I'm sure is not the only issue, but the park is a disappointment. Riley Park is a vibrant park, but it's also not a scene: it's a quiet place to lie on a blanket, sit in the wading pool, or do acro-yoga.

I like the height of both Ezra and Vic, and would prefer for Harriet to be roughly in line with them. Other than the height, I am very much in favor of a mid-rise along 5 Ave NW. I don't agree with knee-jerk NIMBYism, I just like mid-rises to be more mid on that stretch.
