Calgary to Canmore Trail

A better bus system should be the higher priority:
-high frequency between Banff and Canmore
-transfers in Banff townsite to lower frequency shuttles to desinations within the park such as the Hotsprings/Gondola/Rimrock, Sunshine, Johnston Canyon, Ski Louise, Lake Louise Townsite, Lake Louise/Chateau

Much of the environmental concern can be mitigated by reducing private vehicle usage. Parks Canada collects more than enough admission revenue to subsidize the bus system. It could easily whack some employees out east and redirect funds to a bus system.

This already exists...at least the CGY-Banff On-It bus service was doing pretty well IIRC before COVID de-railed everything.

Banff/Canmore local/regional transit is already very good.

That said, the longer the duration of a trip, the more a train>coach.

Canmore Council has voted to pursue an Alberta Court of Appeal challenge to the Property Rights Tribunal decision on Smith Creek and Three Sisters Village.

Brutal - Canmore has to have some of the worst NIMBY-types in the province. People who fight development under the guise of being concerned about wildlife when their actual concern is inflating their own property value.

Yeap. Especially laughable when NIMBY's raise climate change concerns. Limiting development in one area only drives it to another, so the climate change implications always wash.

Impacts to wildlife can only be assessed at the Provincal level, as wilflife is capable of movement.
