The spandrel panel and vision glass colour combo is busy and complicated for absolutely no reason. Has no continuity or flow, and is only designed this way to break up an oppressively large structure. Streamline it and make it elegant like Telus Sky or Dominion. You do this and it will look like shit, like the Metropolitan.

Those big blocks of grey panel will look enormous and won't break up the monolithic street wall the podium creates. This will eventually look and feel like the modern-day version of this:

This is shaping up to be the most atrocious group of towers in the area. And it has fierce competition with Sasso / Vetro, the Nuera twins and Keynote. This will forever ruin the view coming down cemetery hill. That podium is a fortress. How in the hell is this being approved?
 
Disagree. Sasso/Vetro actually use real brick and stone and have a decent amount of glass. Sure the green stucco is ugly but I find Cidex worse...I like Keynote and Nuera would have been pretty decent if they went with white stucco up the sides and a more clear roof.

This monstrosity needs to die ASAP.
 
Keynote is good if not nice. What is wrong with keynote, like at all?

Anywho, yes, this one would be garbage if any developer proposed it, even a capable developer. With Cidex at the helm... well let's just say our skyline view from the south and southeast will be ruined for a century.
 
Sasso / Vetro are the worst new highrises in the city in 20 years, the design is awful, the metal "features" are just trying too hard, the colour of the stucco clashes with the stone IMO and the proportions are just plain awkward. Cidex buildings are cheap looking, but mostly just fade into the background, whereas Vetro / Sasso stand out for all the wrong reasons.

The real deciding factor for Cidex is going to be the glass on West Village, if that turns out well, then there's hope for this one...
 
dunno, nuera looks like a chinese knock off of a chinese knock off of a bad 70s tower. just as terrible as sasso/vetro only different.

how come all the great buildings getting buried in the center of the city and all the eyesores can been seen from everywhere?
