Very cool building. Would fit in so nicely along 17th, 11th, or 12th ave, but will be good here too. Hopefully it can help be a catalyst for the area.
I am concerned about the hotel's prospect though, as someone who stays at a lot of hotels and reads a lot of hotel reviews on Tripadvisor etc... I can already see some of the reviews for this due to its location.
With an allowable GFA of 6,600sf, this truly is a micro project that makes use of a very challenging, tiny remnant lot. Given the proximity to the new event centre and culture & entertainment district, the owner is confident that a boutique will thrive and be a catalyst for further development on this block. Here are a few renders we've been working on....
While skeptical of it ever coming to life, it's definitely a cool project and I wish it well. That area sure could use a shot in the arm (the good kind!).
Interesting concept, though I feel like the renderings overstate the transparency of the mesh. Just hope it doesn't turn out like Courtyard 33 where the transparency is almost non-existent.
The stainless steel cable mesh is actually quite transparent! This is the product we're proposing. The example images show how it basically disappears. Very different in nature than perforated metal panel.
I think it'll look okay, based on the material shown in the DP it's closer to a fence than a mesh and the holes are 4x7 inches
Edit: bossman beat me by seconds lol
