Can anyone confirm that Hines bought this site from Procura? I just did a title search and it looks like Procura still owns it.

I can't confirm, as I have only been told that Hines is involved and that there is now a new design. I wonder if Hines has simply partnered with Procura?

I highly doubt we will see this built anytime soon, it's always fun to dream though and if the design is anything like the rendering I would be very happy but again not gonna happen soon

Heard a pretty solid rumour that the shorter tower could be starting soon.

By starting, do you mean applying for a permit? Nothing is in for approvals yet, so if they apply tomorrow, likely at least 6 months (optimistically) before approval. I have heard Hines intends to move forward as well, but likely construction starting in spring 2018 is more realistic.

Yes sir.

This latest construction tender is for (1) 35 storey tower with 277 residences plus (1) 7 storey building with 186 residences. Last year's budgeting exercise was based on a preliminary concept so I viewed it as high level.
A more detailed rendering and specification package was included in this recent package. The design architect is Solomon Cordwell Buenz and the architect of record is Kirkor Architecture. The project name is now 500 Block South.

^^ wow, well there you go folks! ^^

Thanks Jonny! 400 units is pretty hefty, but will be good for that part of the Beltline. How does the podium look?

The rendering on the cover page is black & white. Retail at the base of the 7 story building and what looks like might be a roof top garden which connects with the taller structure. This tender has definitely been fleshed out more than last year's which was pretty rudimentary. They are still calling this preliminary so I gather the final tab that comes in will finalize the financing question. This looks like it is legit but when it starts will probably be market driven. We will know as soon as the Resource Furniture store which is on site now, has a sign on it saying 'Closing or Moving'.
