I'm still holding out hope and will wait until it's finished before judging it. The screen will make or break the design. If it's bare metal it won't look good. If there's some finish applied I think it will disguise the greige paneling enough that it won't matter.
The sad part about this building and others in Calgary is the metal trim they are using looks like vinyl. There’s an old saying, “perception is reality”.
White stucco would've looked nice behind the screen, especially with the lighting. I doubt this gray color will work well and have the same warm glow as the render (if they even end up including the lighting at all...)
Companies should be required to submit renders in different seasons and time of day. It could still look great at night, but I can't imagine any mesh that can make this look good during the day.
