I hear you. I’m in Toronto visiting relatives, and it’s nice to catch the big city action. Toronto seems even busier than it was 20 years ago when I last visited but tbh, I prefer Calgary’s medium action vibe.Wow, thanks for the updates! Can you believe it, I've been checking out this forum for almost two years now, ever since I bought a condo here in Gallery. I'm in Toronto right now, which is awesome and all, super lively, but it was impossible to find a good and affordable place to live near the stuff I like. When I visited Calgary, I totally fell for it! Perfect mix of city + mountains without being too much. Yeah, downtown Calgary is WAY smaller and quieter than Toronto, but that's exactly what I wanted. I'm a chill, kinda introverted person, not a party animal. Hiking and walking around the city are my jam, so Calgary (even if people say it's boring compared to Toronto) was perfect for me! Quite an intro, huh? Haha. Basically, thanks to everyone for keeping me in the loop! I finally decided to stop being anonymous and say thanks for all your contributions! Especially to @UrbanWarrior and @1875 . I'll be active this time around.
Thanks @CT (Chinese_T) !Welcome to the forum, @FrancoZ!
Exactly. Well, I'm still living in Toronto until Gallery is built, then I'll be there! Gotta meet up all of us at Bottlescrew for some beers to celebrate! HahaI hear you. Welcome to Calgary and welcome to the forum.
Which unit did you end up grabbing? I went for unit 166 with 2 parking spotsExactly. Well, I'm still living in Toronto until Gallery is built, then I'll be there! Gotta meet up all of us at Bottlescrew for some beers to celebrate! Haha
123! I hope the view is good! I'm really happy with the purchase so far. I've been to downtown Calgary a few times and stayed in an Airbnb (in the same area where Gallery is being built) to chill, hang out, and even work, just to see what a normal day there would be like.Which unit did you end up grabbing? Thats awesome dude. I was planning to do the exact same thing this up coming weekend with the wifey. How did you like the area and the vibe?123! I hope the view is good! Yes, go for it! And let me know what you and your wife think once you give it a try. Honestly, it all comes down to lifestyle and preferences. For me, I’m kind of an ambivert, mostly on the introvert side, so I really enjoy exploring local microbreweries and grabbing a good craft beer at a cozy pub rather than being in big crowds. I’m not into super busy, packed cities, I prefer that sweet spot between city life and nature. I also love hiking and just walking around and discovering the city. That’s why downtown Calgary works perfectly for me. It’s about 75% smaller than Toronto’s downtown, the nightlife isn’t as hectic, and honestly, I see that as a positive. It gives me the balance I was looking for.Thats awesome dude. I was planning to do the exact same thing this up coming weekend with the wifey. How did you like the area and the vibe?
