I'm okay with the material choice, but that's more of a personal choice. If it's the same type of material Hindle used on their lower Mount Royal design, I would be fine with it.
I agree with you. I actually like this but they should line up the windows and keep the corrugated look consistent across the floors, and increase the window size. This design doesn't take itself too seriously and keeps the attention on the historic facade next to it while bringing a nice new ground floor unit to the community.

I think one corrugated building is okay for Inglewood. One thing I like about Inglewood is it has good architectural diversity, but currently it doesn't have any buildings with the corrugated paneling. Would I want more than one building with that material? No.

I find the design pretty boring, but I also believe it wouldn't take much to improve it.
- line up the windows properly.
- add some fenestration and some sort of trim along the roofline.
- increase the size of the windows.
With bigger windows and extra fenestration and the material wouldn't matter.

Maybe it’s just me, but “corrugated look” should not be part of such a heritage focused street, especially when we have so few as-is. The turd across the street should be a warning against going off script with cheapness, not an invite.
The one across the street isn't really that bad, but it just looks like it belongs in a new ski village or masterplanned community, trying to fake a design. At least this proposal doesn't do that. If you aren't going to be an architectural landmark, might as well keep it simple and clean. We'll see how it pans out, but with slightly bigger windows and properly fitting trim around them, I don't think it will look all that cheap.
