They have giant hydraulic shears ripping the floors apart on this one, stood and watched for 20 minutes on my way back from lunch. Fascinating to watch, if you have time, go check out the demolition.

I hope it doesn't stay an empty lot. Calgary's a funny place. We'll tear down existing buildings, even old apartment buildings with character, but places like this sit empty for decades.

That's been vacant for 30-35 years. Most of that lot was a 3 story office building from around 1960 - sometime between 88 and 95

There needs to be some serious thought to increasing the expense of hoarding unimproved land within the city limits. It seems to build, existing buildings need to be replaced because the vacant land isn't for sale.

Calcutta cricket club (right beside the demolition) is moving locations to where A1 café used to be - also the building next to CCC has been unoccupied for sometime.
We'll have to see what happens to this block but this is a waste of potential.
