Bridgeland Discussion Thread

Is that the old general hospital that I always hear Calgarians talk about? As much as it sucks to lose and inner-city hospital, Bridgeland appears to have benefited greatly from its replacement. There really should be a medium-sized hospital built right within the downtown core.

It is indeed. It sucks to lose a hospital, but the building was old and not really up to par in today's modern world of hospitals. Now that the land has been developed, and it's a success it definitely was a good trade-off. At the time, the General was going away they had planned for the Shumir to be a junior version of a hospital.

The Chumir Centre is a junior hospital essentially. Just doesn’t have in-patient services. Has an emergency room and all that.
