Everyone seems to forget that residential towers in Calgary are built with much smaller budgets (per square foot) than office towers. This really limits design creativity. As the market matures and becomes more expensive, we will see more interesting residential tower design.

I don't mind the idea of the spire, just that it's kind of small. I would rather if they are building a spire that it would be a bit more prominent.

This is true. As much as we like to critique developments, it all comes down to the fact that it's a private development, and the building isn't mean to please a group of skyscraper nerds, it's meant to make money for someone. I'm happy that it's a decent looking tower, it could be so much worse.

I like the tower for the most part. In the grand scheme of things, it's decent, and adds some good density to the west Beltline.

On Some Passing Thoughts, some "Healthy Competition" with or Between Dvlprs Might not B such a "Bad Thing". Regardless of Heights, It would offer the
Dvlprs a Chance to Offer a Better Product Based on the Views that Our Project can Offer More in Terms of what would B on the Market then what is across the Street or Down the Block Condo or Apt Wise Does say Something in Terms of Sales or Long Term Rentals. I base it n My 4 Yrs Appraisel Experience when I lived in Mtl B 4 I Moved to Calgary. Product is Everything in Today's Markets.

This one reminds me of the Arris towers. It's not an eyesore. It's just completely forgettable. The biggest disappointment is another filler podium presenting a weak street front. This is an area Calgary developers continually fall short and it's more important than density, height or the latest design fad.

I was on the "On It Buss" about Two Weeks Ago (Aug 11th) on the Way to Banff. Didn't get a Chance to see How the Site was Dvlpg. At What 40 Flrs Up. It Looks
Like Its Worth Watching Over Time, Will B Interested to See How Other Projects Dvlp in Belt West.

Questions. These Drills on Site Verses the Pile Drivers. Just what Goes in after Drilling? I See the H Beams Being Pounded into the Ground etc, on Various Sites. Trust Its not a Dumb Questions.

They fill in the drilled holes with reinforced concrete, vs driving piles in. However, there is also a hybrid method where they drill, pour, and then pound the concrete down further as well. You can google "Pile Foundation Types" to see some schematics and descriptions of the methods.
